Toasts to the Regiment and to the Departed Members of 2/71 and Support Units
From the Editor
This edition of the newsletter includes photos of the very
successful reunion in Nashville this past October 2002, and
our change of plans for the 2004 reunion. Minutes of the
General Membership Meeting and reflections on the Nashville
reunion will be in a newsletter next year. We remind you that
this is the time for 2003 membership renewal. The Christmas
season is always a good time for members of 2/71 to reflect on
that special treat which Father John Dahlheimer left us in his
Christmas message of 1959.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Bob and Lois Mackintosh
wish to extend their best
wishes to all of you for this holiday season. Their wish is that
all of you remain in good health until we meet again at the
next reunion.

The following portions of Father Dahlheimher’s
Christmas letter refer to the 2
nd
Missile Battalion. (If you
did not see his entire newsletter in one of our 1999 newslet-
ters, let
Bob Mackintosh
know, and we will send you a
copy.)

here, I was privileged to be the chaplain first of Delta
Battery, which was closest to Hsinchu, and eventually to all
of the batteries.
“…but I have a very delicious feeling that thanks to all
this extremely impressive hardware off-loaded so swiftly
and with little attempt at secrecy here in Taiwan when it
was most needed, i.e. the Nike missiles, the F10
